Scream & Scream 3 Actor C.W. Morgan Passes Away
The cause and manner of death remain under review after medical examiner records listed the death as deferred, officials said.
Actor C.W. Morgan died at age 72, TMZ reported on Thursday, October 8, 2026, after the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a death in a Los Angeles County bathroom and initially assessed it as natural causes.
In Wes Craven's 1996 film Scream, Morgan portrayed Hank Loomis, the father of Ghostface killer Billy Loomis, whose affair with Sidney Prescott's mother drove the plot and made him central to the franchise.
Morgan's daughter honored him on social media, writing that losing him left "the biggest hole in my heart" and recalling their Mulholland drives, Starbucks outings, and the "poorly timed jokes" she inherited from him.
While police initially cited natural causes, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's determination remains pending, with Entertainment Weekly reporting the official cause and manner of death currently under examination.
Beyond his Scream role, Morgan appeared in the 1997 film Metro, the 1992 TV movie The Last of His Tribe, and the 1997 video game The Last Express, showcasing a varied career across media.
