Scotland star Scott McTominay return timeline set after successful heart surgery
On Tuesday, Scott McTominay underwent an ablation procedure at Spire Manchester Hospital, with Napoli confirming the operation was a complete success.
The midfielder was diagnosed with "a mild benign arrhythmia," an irregular heart rhythm deemed non-serious and posing no significant risk to overall health.
McTominay will miss Napoli's Champions League opener against Arsenal on Wednesday evening and four Scotland Nations League matches against Slovenia, Switzerland, and North Macedonia.
Facing a two-week rest period, the 29-year-old will resume training and is expected to be "available again after the international break."
This absence impacts the first four matches of Sebastien Pocognoli's Scotland reign, as McTominay has been capped 73 times and remains influential.
