Indian-origin couple Anjana Raja and Pattabiraman Venkatesan narrowly escaped a devastating flood in Nepal's Rasuwa district. While traveling to Tibet, a massive wall of water approached their bus, forcing them to jump and climb 500 stairs to safety. Along the way, they witnessed police stations and homes being swept away. They spent the night in a goat shed and were airlifted to safety the next day.

The couple was traveling by bus from Timure village in Nepal's Rasuwa district (near the China border) when a massive wave of brown, dusty water and debris, 60 to 70 feet high, came crashing down from the mountains.
