Saudi Arabia is offering Asian buyers more oil to load at the Omani port of Sohar, in response to damage to the key East-West pipeline that bypasses the partially blocked Strait of Hormuz. The outage could also affect supplies to European refineries.
Oil is correcting strongly after yesterday’s jump. WTI is again approaching US$99 per barrel and Brent is quoted at around US$103.7, moving away from the peaks they reached during the previous day.

Oil prices fell slightly on Wednesday (16/9) as reports that Saudi Arabia is offering additional crude cargoes via Oman eased concerns about the extent of supply disruptions from the Middle East, while European diesel prices remained near record levels. Against the backdrop of the above developments, Brent futures are currently down 0.95% to $107.68 a barrel. At the same time, US crude (WTI) contracts are down 1.90% to $103.72 a barrel.
