Salmon Arm true believer in running to appear in a Stan Lee Universe comic book
The five-year-old’s superhero identity could become a Stan Lee Universe comic book, and the winner also gets $25,000 and VIP passes to Los Angeles Comic Con.
As of Tuesday, Oct. 27, five-year-old Kennett is in first place in the quarter finals of the Stan Lee Super Kid contest, run by the Stan Lee Foundation.
After discovering Kennett had congenital hearing loss in his left ear, his mother Rachel fitted him with a hearing aid in April, which he embraced as his "Super Ear" decorated like Spider-Man's costume.
The contest winner receives $25,000, a Stan Lee Universe comic book, and four VIP passes to the 2027 Los Angeles Comic Con, prizes Rachel hopes will celebrate Kennett's pride in his identity.
With semi-finals voting ending Thursday, Nov. 5, the family is rallying public support to advance. Rachel said they have been successful with friends and family so far, but "now that we're entering this next, really high stakes round, it feels we could actually get him across the finish line for it."
Rachel remains hopeful that public voting will secure a trip to Los Angeles for the family. Kennett continues showing his love of Marvel by wearing costume parts while campaigning, embodying his Super Ear identity.
