S&P/TSX composite down in late-morning trading, U.S. stock markets higher

The index fell 76.66 points as oil rose US$2.12 and U.S. markets gained, according to The Canadian Press.

TORONTO — Canada's main stock index was down in late-morning trading despite strength in the energy sector as the price of oil moved higher, while U.S. stock markets were up. The S&P/TSX composite index was down 76.66 points at 35,383.61.
