Russian oil refineries boost output as drone attacks halt after US-brokered deal: Reuters
Refineries lifted crude processing to about 5 million barrels a day as diesel output rose and exports partially reopened, industry sources said.
Russian refineries increased crude processing by roughly 25% in the second half of October, reaching around 5 million barrels per day after persistent drone attacks ceased following a US-brokered deal.
President Donald Trump announced an "energy ceasefire" between Russia and Ukraine on October 11, halting drone attacks that had plagued refineries since mid-March and caused severe domestic fuel shortages and export bans.
With exports partially reopened, refineries increased diesel output by at least 50,000 metric tons per day, reaching 225,000 tons daily, or about 1.7 million barrels per day, with around 80,000 tons available for export.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Tuesday that almost all required oil and gas equipment is manufactured domestically in Russia, enabling swift restoration of refinery units and supporting the production recovery.
Authorities reported the last attacks occurred in Ryazan and Surgut in mid-October, with no further strikes recorded after October 16, allowing domestic processing to stabilize following months of volatility.
