Rupiah Weakens in Monday Morning Trading, US Dollar Rises to Rp17,614
The rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar opened slightly lower on Monday (September 14, 2026), to Rp17,614 per US dollar. Previously, the rupiah closed at Rp17,611 per US dollar on Friday (September 11, 2026). Rully Nova, an analyst at Bank Woori Saudara, said pressure on the rupiah was influenced, among other things, by market expectations of an interest rate hike by the United States Central Bank (Fed).
The rupiah exchange rate opened stronger against the United States (US) dollar at the start of trading this week.
The Garuda currency rose six points or the equivalent of 0.03 percent from IDR 17,611 per USD at the close of the previous trading session.
