The Royal Mint Boldly Goes Where No Coin Has Gone Before With New Star Trek 50p Coins
The Royal Mint said some of the 50p coins will feature colour and start at £19.95, with a second design due in November.
On September 3, The Royal Mint launched two commemorative 50p coins celebrating 60 years of the Star Trek television franchise, featuring vibrant color designs inspired by the show's iconic costumes and history.
Inspired by 1960s television advances, The Mint designed one coin featuring the "Live long and prosper" Vulcan Salute, while the other showcases four spacecraft spanning different franchise eras.
Collectors can purchase the coins from The Mint starting September 3, with individual prices beginning at £19.95 for fans seeking a piece of the franchise's commemorative history.
The Mint notes these collectable pieces are worth at least 40 times their face value, appealing to Star Trek's dedicated collector community seeking rare commemorative currency.
This release follows July's "ice and fire" coins marking 15 years of the fantasy drama Game of Thrones, produced in collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products.
