Since 1 January 2025, the number of cases of measles has risen sharply, according to Public Health France. Five cases have been recorded in Brittany.
The figures reported by the health agency already exceed the 2024 (483) record. The majority of hospitalized persons were infants, young children and young adults.
Two people have died in France of this very contagious disease since the beginning of the year. Public health France has registered 658 cases since January. The Nord department is particularly concerned.

In a press release published this Monday, Public Health France states that the number of cases of measles remains at "a particularly high level in some regions", even though the peak "appears to have been reached" in March. 658 cases have been recorded since the beginning of the year, compared with 483 cases in 2024.
