Rookie Allen Graves willing to do anything the Toronto Raptors ask of him
The first-round pick says he will accept limited NBA minutes or time with Raptors 905 as Toronto’s rotation remains crowded.
Toronto Raptors rookie Allen Graves is embracing his role, promising to do whatever the organization asks. The 20-year-old is ready to take every opportunity and run with it.
The Raptors drafted the Santa Clara University standout 19th overall this past summer. Graves faces a tough path to the rotation, as veterans like Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley are locked into starting roles for Wednesday's home opener against the Chicago Bulls.
In Friday's 129-125 pre-season loss to the Detroit Pistons, Graves scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds. He acknowledged shooting struggles, saying, "My shot wasn't falling, but they keep shooting."
Head coach Darko Rajakovic praised the rookie's professionalism, noting his attention to detail and work ethic. "He's doing a great job so far," Rajakovic said of Graves' early impact.
Graves remains patient about his development, stating, "Whatever they see as the best plan for me this year" is acceptable. He is willing to play for Raptors 905 of the G-League if the team decides that is the best fit.
