The new Saudi airline Riyadh Air has been granted the right from the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) to operate flights to and from the United States. The ministry stated that the permit was in the public interest.
The U.S. Department of Transport (DoT) has granted Riyadh Air a foreign air carrier licence, allowing the young Saudi company to open regular and charter routes between Riyadh and the United States. This green light comes as the company's Boeing 787-9 fleet is rapidly growing and its network is expected to reach 22 destinations by early 2027, as part of the Saudi strategy to make the capital a global hub.
