Returning Emmerdale star reveals she was left 'skint' after losing everything
Kensit said a bad investment wiped out her savings and pensions, and she is learning scripts for a six-month return to the soap.
Actress Patsy Kensit, 58, is returning to the ITV soap Emmerdale later this year, reprising her role as Sadie King 20 years after her original two-year run from 2004 to 2006.
Kensit revealed a single bad investment left her "skint" a decade ago, forcing the former Primrose Hill resident to "start from scratch" after losing everything in a corporate deal.
On Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast, Kensit revealed she has already been on set for "two months" and plans to stay six months, saying "the storylines are fantastic, it's written really well."
Sadie will clash with Kim Tate, played by Claire King, in storylines that cast members have warmly welcomed. Kensit described the experience as "a hell of a ride" on the Yorkshire production.
Maintaining a disciplined approach, Kensit stated, "You just take each day at a time and I do that with regards to my work." She continues learning scripts daily as she navigates her career's next chapter.
