Trump-backed Mark Lamb wins Arizona House seat
Mark Lamb defeated Democrat Elizabeth Lee after a late ballot shift, giving Republicans another Arizona House seat by a narrow 3-point margin, officials said.
On Friday, the Associated Press declared Former Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb the winner of Arizona's CD5, securing 51.5% of the vote over Democrat Elizabeth Lee's 48.5%.
In the Republican-leaning district, Lee held a nearly five-percentage-point lead when Tuesday's results arrived, but Lamb reclaimed the lead overnight Wednesday and maintained it.
Despite allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse of power, President Trump reaffirmed his endorsement for Lamb, who campaigned on protecting Arizonans' freedoms and the southern border.
Separately, the Associated Press projected Abe Hamadeh won Arizona's CD8, leading 51.3% to 48.7% and becoming the first Arab-American elected to Congress from Arizona.
Republicans are expected to hold at least three congressional seats from Arizona following projected defeats for other candidates, down from six seats the party held entering the 2026 election.
