The National High Court suspends Repsol’s payment of 120 million for the temporary energy levy
Precautionary suspension of payments of 2023 and 2024 is achieved while the surcharge designed by the Executive continues to fall in court after a strong political struggle
The interim suspension is in addition to the one agreed in June by an additional $152.4 million for 2023, although the measure is conditional on the presentation of a bank guarantee.
The National High Court has agreed to the precautionary suspension of the decision of the Central Economic-Administrative Tribunal (CEAC) that required Repsol to receive 120,305 million euros corresponding to the liquidation of the Temporary Energy Gravamen for the 2024 financial year.
The Chamber states in the legal reasoning that “there is no opposition to the adoption of the precautionary measure and analysed the circumstances of the case, it is appropriate to suspend the execution of the contested act”.
