Gandhi had dreamt of achieving Indian independence through ‘Hindu-Muslim unity’ On the fateful days of September 9th and 10th of 1924, radical Islamist mobs unleashed mayhem in Hindu mohallas (neighbourhood) in Kohat town. The carnage was pre-meditated and resulted in the exodus of the entire Hindu population from the area.
