The summer school should become compulsory for children with German problems. If not enough teachers are found, forces could be obliged, according to the Minister of Education.
The planned expansion of the summer school to a mandatory visit with insufficient German knowledge meets little opposition with the teacher union. Rather, one is "very angry", said the supreme teacher unionist Paul Kimberger (FCG). The reason for the impetus is the plan of education minister Christoph Wiederkehr (NEOS) to oblige teachers, if necessary, against their will for the summer schools.
Children with German problems will have to attend the summer school from next year. Minister of Education Recurrence is confident that enough teaching staff can be found.
