Alberta child names future RCMP pup in national contest
One of the RCMP’s newest four-legged recruits now has a name, and it’s thanks to a young Albertan. “Action” was one of 13 names chosen through the RCMP’s 2025 Name the Puppy contest, and the winning submission came from Alberta’s own Chance Jerome. The contest invited kids aged four to 14 from across Canada to help name the first puppies born this year at the RCMP’s Police Dog Service Training Centre (PDSTC) in Innisfail. The winners of the RCMP’s 2025 Name the Puppy contest have been announced. The contest is held each year to provide names for puppies being raised at the RCMP’s Police Dog Services Training Centre (PDSTC) in Innisfail, Alta.
