In the Czech Republic, doctors have already recorded 2,597 cases of hepatitis A this year. This is four times more than last year, when 636 cases were recorded. The State Institute of Public Health (SZÚ) has already recorded 29 deaths related to hepatitis A.
Data indicate that jaundice spreads across all age groups, although people aged 30 to 45 and children aged 5 to 9 are most commonly affected.

The Polish Foreign Ministry has advised Polish citizens to avoid traveling to the Czech Republic due to the high number of cases of hepatitis A in the neighboring country. The PAP agency reported this. According to the ministry, if Poles still decide to travel to the Czech Republic, they should take increased hygiene measures, avoid drinking tap water and eating food of unverified origin.
