Rangers Put OF Wyatt Langford on 10-Day IL with Strained Left Hamstring, Activate OF Evan Carter
Wyatt Langford was sidelined after a hamstring strain, and manager Skip Schumaker said he will likely miss time until after the All-Star break.
On Sunday, the Texas Rangers placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain and activated outfielder Evan Carter after 15 days recovering from a right oblique strain.
Langford reported discomfort after beating out a double in Friday's 5-4 win, prompting his late scratch from Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays and eventual IL placement.
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Langford will likely remain sidelined until after the All-Star break, removing a contributor who was batting.278 with eight home runs and 20 RBIs.
Returning after two rehab games with Double-A Frisco, Carter starts in center field Sunday as the Rangers attempt a four-game road sweep of the Blue Jays.
This move follows the recent return of shortstop Corey Seager from a concussion, marking another roster adjustment as the Rangers strive to reach.500 for the first time since June 11.
