Rabbi Steve Karro Establishes Arts Scholarship to Assist Undergraduate Students Nationwide
The one-time grant will support students in fine art, design, music, writing and crafts who create work tied to culture and community.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Rabbi Steve Karro announced the Steve Karro Scholarship for the Arts, a one-time $1,000 grant designed to help undergraduate students pursuing fine art, design, music, writing, or traditional crafts.
Rising expenses for an arts education—tuition, supplies, and studio fees—continue to climb for students throughout the United States, prompting Karro to envision the award as support for emerging creative talent.
Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents enrolled at an accredited institution and submit an essay between 500 and 800 words by the June 15, 2027 deadline.
A review panel appointed by Karro will assess each entry based on originality and sincerity, selecting recipients who will help the next generation of artists preserve tradition and make positive impact.
Born in Russia and raised in Jerusalem, Karro established the program to celebrate heritage and sacred traditions, with the scholarship winner to be announced on July 15, 2027.
