The German group lifted adjusted core earnings guidance to €9.8 billion to €10.3 billion after pharmaceuticals sales topped expectations by 5%, according to Vara Research.

  • On Tuesday, German pharmaceuticals and agriculture group Bayer raised its 2026 profit outlook, citing better-than-anticipated performance in its pharmaceuticals business. Stock rose 2% in early Frankfurt trade.
  • Chief Executive Bill Anderson stated, "We've reached a turning point in Pharma's growth trajectory and we're beginning to see the other side." The company achieved adjusted core earnings of €1.62 billion, around 13% ahead of analyst expectations.
  • Bayer's pharmaceuticals division posted sales of €4.68 billion in the third quarter, 5% above analyst expectations. The crop science division achieved adjusted core earnings of €101 million, missing the €164 million target amid weak sales in EMEA and Asia Pacific.
  • Management cut net financial debt expectations for the year by €1 billion, now projecting between €28 billion and €29 billion. Adjusted core earnings forecast was raised to between €9.8 billion and €10.3 billion.
  • Long-Term financial pressure persists for the group, which remains weighed down by heavy debt since its $63 billion acquisition of Monsanto in 2018. This deal also burdened Bayer with costly Roundup litigation affecting its financial profile.
