The cessation of navigation through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait would cause a serious crisis, Doha favoured diplomacy to resolve the situation, and the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Ibrahim Al-Hashmi, told journalists.
Qatar today warned that a closure of Bab el-Mandeb's strait, in the Red Sea, now controlled by Yemen's Hutis rebels, pro-Iran, will be "catastrophic" for the world economy.
