The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has announced that it will extend measures against unauthorized navigation to the entire Persian Gulf region, including the Strait of Ormuz, where it claimed an attack on an oil tanker.
Iran has warned it will pursue and punish ships that pass through shipping lanes not authorized by Tehran, including outside the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC Navy Command, announcing an escalation of action against violating vessels, emphasized that from now on, unauthorized passage will not be limited to the Strait of Hormuz, and that violating vessels will be pursued throughout the region.
