Rams Star Puka Nacua Opens up on Seeking Help, Legal Troubles and Stalled Mega Deal
On Thursday, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua addressed the media at organized team activities for the first time since completing rehab this offseason, saying he has turned a corner in his personal life.
Nacua checked into a Malibu facility earlier this offseason after being sued for alleged assault and antisemitic comments on New Year's Eve; his attorney Levi McCathern has denied the allegations in the strongest possible terms.
Beyond rehab, Nacua has worked with a team therapist and attended weekly meetings, starting journaling to improve his daily structure and citing his young son as motivation to teach him lessons from past mistakes.
Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Nacua is focusing on his Rams role rather than extension talks, having led the NFL with 129 catches last year while earning unanimous All-Pro honors.
Rams head coach Sean McVay has expressed public support, trusting the relationship developed over recent years as Nacua prepares to play alongside Davante Adams and NFL MVP Matthew Stafford this fall.
