Şener Şengün, the head of the Karadere Valley Highlands and Wildlife Protection Association, reacted against the start of deep drilling operations by Altınordu, a company under Limak Holding, in the Karadere Valley of Gümüşhane. Şengün stated, “Altınordu is carrying out drilling activities here without obtaining any permits. This is completely illegal. We call on the authorities to take action and on our citizens to protect their land and water.”
