Providence man pleads guilty to string of bank robberies

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence man admitted in court Wednesday that he robbed three banks and attempted to rob a fourth within a three-day span, according to U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha. Vaughn Watrous, 47, pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree bank robbery. His sentence will be determined at a later date.
