Proposal would reestablish backcountry airstrip in North Dakota Badlands
The plan would restore a backcountry strip for recreational pilots, while conservation advocates say it could affect wildlife habitat and public lands.
The Recreation Aviation Foundation requested a special use permit from the Medora Ranger District of the Dakota Prairie Grasslands to resurrect the former Eberts Airstrip in Billings County.
