Prison Nurse Pleads Guilty to Having an Affair with Convicted Killer in Scandal-Hit Wandsworth Jail
On Tuesday, prison nurse Stephanie Adair pleaded guilty to one count of misconduct in a public office at Kingston Crown Court, appearing in the dock wearing a black blazer.
Prosecutors stated Adair 'wilfully misconducted' herself by engaging in an 'inappropriate personal relationship' with prisoner Jakhi Crosdale between September 2023 and November 2024 while working at HMP Wandsworth.
Contact was maintained using the prisoner's 'illicit mobile phone,' according to the indictment; Crosdale appeared via CVP link from HMP Manchester on Tuesday.
Both defendants received unconditional bail after Crosdale, on recall until 2029, pleaded guilty to unauthorized transmission of image or sound from HMP Wandsworth and HMP Lowdham Grange.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 9 for both Adair and Crosdale; Prosecutor Oliver Mosley noted Crosdale's prior manslaughter conviction during proceedings.
