- The move reduces sitting Conservative MLAs to 35, down from 44 elected in October 2024, as members reportedly grew dissatisfied with Findlay's leadership and the party's rightward shift.
- Bird joins Delta South MLA Ian Paton and Kamloops Centre MLA Peter Milobar, who have announced their intention to form a new political party after leaving the caucus.
- During a Vancouver press conference on Tuesday, Findlay acknowledged further departures may occur, claiming those leaving "do not have a vision for prosperity and hope" for British Columbians.
- While Bird and others previously refused requests to vacate their seats for a byelection, Abbotsford-Mission MLA Reann Gasper recently stepped down to clear a path for Findlay.
