Yesterday night, Tuesday, 6 October, the House of Deputies passed by a majority the opinion that delegates to the executive branch the power to legislate on the subject of citizen security and the El Niño phenomenon for a period of ninety calendar days. Oscar Reto Otero, president of the Chamber of Deputies, said that the approved legislative proposal will be sent to the Senate to continue the legislative procedure.

After a lengthy debate finally approved the request for legislative powers of the Executive

The proposal received 66 votes in favour, 34 against and 24 abstentions in the final vote. The document will be forwarded to the Senate to continue the legislative procedure.
