Portugal mainland last year had a safe tap water indicator almost 100%, which happens for the 11th consecutive year, indicating data released today by the Regulatory Entity of the Water and Waste Sector (ERSAR).
The safe water indicator was set at 98.84% in 2025, extending to 11 consecutive years values close to 100%.
Annual Report of the Water and Waste Services (RASARP), referring to 2025, was composed of 74,473 analyses programmed to the water, and 229 (0.31%) were not correct
This value is the result of the conjugation of mandatory analyses (99.91%) and compliance with parametric values (98.93%).
