With Patrícia Sampaio as the only Portuguese serial head (sixth), the draw of the Judo Worlds drew a difficult picture for some of the national judocas who compete from Sunday in Baku.
In addition to Patrícia Sampaio (-78kg) and its Olympic bronze, Portugal will have arguments in the experienced Jorge Fonseca (-100kg), the only world champion of Portuguese judo (2019 and 2021) and that, as his coach said, on a good day may be in the fight, or Catarina Costa (-48kg), three times European vice-champion.
