According to a new study by 2045, Germany's population will shrink from 83.3 to 81.8 million people. Two thirds of the districts and non-circular cities have to expect a population decline – there are enormous regional differences.
The Berlin Institute for Population and Development assumes that the population will shrink moderately until 2045. Regionally, however, there are large differences. There are also forecasts for cities in NRW.
