At 07:00 local time (12:00 GMT), the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador, Diana Atamaint, announced the beginning throughout the country of the constitutional referendum and popular consultation. This is the second such vote called by the Ecuadorian president, Daniel Noboa, since he came to power in 2023.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) inaugurated the voting day of November 16.
