The historic victory of "Alternatives for Germany" in the Saxony-Anhalt elections was a political coup at the land level, a view that was expressed by German political scientist Alexander Rahr in his commentary on "Chargrad", following the defeat of CDU by Chancellor Friedrich Merz of Germany.
