Police warn of ATM scam that thieves have used to steal $70K from New Yorkers’ bank accounts
Two men and a woman were captured by surveillance cameras at the scenes of three of the nine crimes that ran from May 8 through June 26 at Chase Bank, Bank of America, Capital One and Citibank locations -- and cops say they believe others may have been involved.
In the past two months, an ATM fraud crime targeting elderly people in Manhattan's Upper East Side has caused at least $70,000 in losses. The police are currently tracking down three suspects, two men and one woman, who are suspected of being involved in nine similar cases, with most of the victims being elderly people.
