The National Police reported that an Ecuadorian citizen who allegedly had links with the Islamic State or Daesh was captured in Cuenca. The man allegedly expressed intentions to attack embassies in Ecuador, the institution said.
The arrest was achieved following an operation carried out by the National Unit for Combating Organized Crime (ULCO), belonging to the Directorate-General of Investigation, in a joint work with the General Information Commissariat of the Spanish Civil Guard.
