According to the activists, the photojournalist, who regularly collaborates with the weekly Mladina, was first verbally attacked at a protest in Ljubljana, and then a protest participant tried to physically confront him.

In the assets of photojournalists and photographers of the Association of Journalists of Slovenia, they condemn the attack on photojournalist Gašper Lešnik during Friday's protest of Institute 1. October. They stress that any attack on photojournalists, cameramen or journalists is unacceptable and completely contrary to the fundamental principles of freedom of expression and journalistic work.
