Brian To'o to Depart Panthers at End of 2027 Season • The Western Weekender

On Monday, four-time premiership-winning winger Brian To'o announced he will leave the Penrith Panthers to join the PNG Chiefs on a three-year deal starting in 2028.
To'o will reunite with former Penrith teammate Jarome Luai, who signed with the Chiefs earlier this year as the club builds its maiden roster for the 2028 NRL season.
PNG Chiefs CEO Lorna McPherson said, "This signing is about much more than football," noting To'o's Samoan heritage and family commitment align with the club's Pacific identity.
Penrith chief executive Matt Cameron said the club respects To'o's decision, which helps the team navigate a salary-cap squeeze while retaining Nathan Cleary and Isaah Yeo.
The Chiefs have also secured veteran talent including Alex Johnston, Zac Lomax, Connor Watson, and Matty Lees, positioning the new franchise to compete in their inaugural 2028 season.
