Plane Turns Around After Takeoff After 'Crack in Window' Found
The Airbus A321-231 returned after AirNav Radar reported a cracked passenger window and the crew declared an emergency, tracking data showed.
On Tuesday, British Airways flight BA2660 from London Gatwick to Faro, Portugal, diverted back to the UK following a mid-air emergency declared this morning.
Unconfirmed reports indicate "A passenger window is cracked," which prompted the emergency declaration while the aircraft was flying over France.
Flight-Tracking data shows the Airbus A321-231 performed a sharp U-turn shortly after passing over Brittany, abandoning its original journey to Portugal.
EuroFlyer operators reported the "Flight deck going through checks before deciding where to divert." AirNav Radar raised the alarm this morning.
The cause of the emergency remains unconfirmed as British Airways and Gatwick have been contacted for comment. This is a developing story.
