Allendale County's reliance on international teachers is challenged as overseas recruitment declines, with foreign hires making up 25% of the local teaching workforce.

Like many school systems facing teacher shortages, South Carolina's Allendale County looked overseas for help. A quarter of the teachers in the rural, high-poverty district come from other countries.
