Two Suspects Accused in Maryland Homicide Arrested in Ohio
Police say a media tip led officers to the pair in Ohio, and detectives linked them to the killing of 67-year-old Hilde Henderson.
On Wednesday, the Genoa Police Department arrested Vanessa Tjongarero-Henderson, 29, and Samantha Raebel, 36, in Genoa, Ohio, following tips about the two murder suspects.
Investigators believe the homicide occurred May 22 at the Charter House community in Silver Spring, Maryland; police discovered 67-year-old Hilde Henderson dead in her apartment four days later.
Montgomery County Police Department detectives launched a nationwide search utilizing tips from several states before an autopsy revealed Henderson died of blunt force trauma, prompting arrest warrants.
Tjongarero-Henderson and Raebel are held at the Ottawa County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Maryland to face first-degree murder charges.
Last November, Raebel was arrested for DUI in Pennsylvania, while Tjongarero-Henderson was charged in Washington, D.C., for driving a stolen vehicle, indicating prior law enforcement encounters.
