Philipsburg Man Accused Of Trying To Lure Child Into Jeep

A Philipsburg man is in custody after allegedly attempting to lure a 9-year-old girl into his vehicle in Decatur Township.  According to State Police in Clearfield County, 66-year-old Daryl Downes is accused of approaching the child in his Jeep in early August, where he reportedly asked for her name and age.  The criminal affidavit states the girl told investigators that she lied about her name but confirmed her age.  Downes allegedly then told …
