Former Colombian President Gustavo Petro will make his first trip abroad since he left office on August 30, when he will move to Mexico City to attend an academic event, according to a letter he sent to the President of the Senate, Honorio Henríquez.
Through a letter, signed by his fist and handwriting, the ex-mandator warned the Senate that he would leave the country on August 30, 2026.

The application was approved by a large majority, including with the votes of senators of the right-wing Democratic Center party, which was one of the main opponents of its government.
