In Hungary, the amount of family allowance has not been increased since 2008, and the doubling affects 1.7 million children and one million families.

According to the TISZA government's plan, the amount of the increased family allowance for permanently ill or severely disabled children would also double from 2027. The measure would affect approximately 134 thousand children and nearly 29 thousand adults entitled in their own right.
