Penticton finalizes referendum question on removal of historic land-use restriction

- Penticton Mayor Julius Bloomfield stated Council chose to seek elector approval so voters can determine if the historic restriction should remain. "This vote is about giving the community the opportunity to weigh in on the future flexibility of this property," Bloomfield said.
- Future land-use changes at the site would require a separate approval process, and the North Gateway plan guarantees no park space will be lost.
