- On Monday, the crash killed at least 15 persons after a bus carrying 34 passengers lost control shortly after midnight.
- The bus was travelling between Jakarta and Yogyakarta on Java island and entered a curved exit ramp at the Krapyak toll way in Semarang when the crash occurred.
- Police and emergency teams arrived about 40 minutes after the crash and recovered six bodies at the scene, while two nearby hospitals treated 18 patients, including five in critical condition and 13 in serious condition.
- Television footage showed the yellow bus lying on its side with National Search and Rescue Agency personnel, police and bystanders as ambulances transported the deceased and injured.
- Budiono said the forceful impact threw several passengers and left them trapped against the bus body, and officials reported another 10 people died en route to hospital or while being treated.
