Sudanese paramilitary forces killed at least 27 civilians after taking a strategic town in central Sudan, a rights monitoring group said Friday. The Emergency Lawyers group said the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), battling the army for more than two years in the country's devastating civil war, "arrested dozens of young people and executed more than 27, accusing them of collaborating with the army". About 300 civilians, including 15 women and 21 children, were killed in recent days by the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (FAR) in Nahud, Western Kordofan State and adjacent to the western Sudanese region of Darfur, a government organization reported on Saturday.

Other sources point to one 300 deaths following the capture of Al Nahud.
