The fire broke out on Wednesday in a waste paper warehouse. There are still 60 firefighters in use. Except for individual gluten nests, however, it is "almost extinguished".
For the time being there is no end in sight, there will probably be a fire from only on Sunday. The company assumes technical defect as a cause.


Firefighting operations continued on Saturday in the fire on the grounds of a paper factory in Pitten, Lower Austria (Neunkirchen district). During the night, the fire was "almost extinguished" except for a few embers, District Fire Chief Josef Huber told APA. The number of vehicles and personnel deployed is therefore being gradually reduced. 60 firefighters were still on scene this morning.
